This is my attempt to deal with the holiday weight. As you can see by my bellygraph below, the holidays have set me back more than a little bit. And the cold made this ride difficult, but at least it's calories burned. And maybe i'll be back on track soon. Activity

This canyon run felt colder than the weather reading included here would suggest. But I still managed to improve my pace. The total time is a longer, because I added an extra segment to the run. I even finished 3 minutes leaning against the bike lockers. (I called this "wallies" before. No one seems to use the same name for this horrid exercise.) Activity

If I'm going to brag about the good rides, I suppose I have to own up to the bad ones. This was way shorter than it should have been. but I was too hung over Saturday morning to do the full ride, and I need better cold weather gear to ride much longer than this. Yeah, lousy excuse. and don't even think of looking at my Bellygraph below, I've stopped updating it out of shame. Activity

This is the extra bit we've been running at bootcamp on Thursdays lately. I find it odd that I end up walking up the goat trail the first time, but after a short rest, I can run it no problem. Of course it's so steep, running is a 12 min/mile pace instead of a 14min/mile pace. Activity

And then I played some tennis...
This morning, my dad and I played some tennis. considering I've not played much lately, I only lost be a respectable 6-3, 6-4. And I played competitively enough to make it last close to 2 hours. So I was very happy about that. But as you can see in this picture, I learned something else about myself:

Apparently, when I play tennis, I kick myself higher along my leg. So now I have 2 bandaids. I hate to think what's next.

To show how hard I'm working
Here's my latest run with the boot camp group. I managed to average under 10 min/mile even with the steep uphill at the end. I was late, so I ran by myself. The crazy people who ran today ran an extra run up and down the goat trail, so I followed along. and except for trouble with the final "wallies", I did the whole workout for once. Hurrah! Activity

This is my first run with the new shoes. Check out that wonderful 1st mile time. And ignore the others. I'm not sure if I ran out of energy, oxygen, or just motivation on the second mile. And my boss jinxed me. She said I'd get a side ache if I ran after eating, so I waited, and got a side ache anyway. I really felt like I started too fast, and never caught up. Oh well, tomorrow will be better. Activity

This is me cycling by myself from home. This log proves what happens when I cycle this far with no breaks. When I cycle with the SDBC, we stop and rest up before hitting Torrey Pines, and I just kept going. My speed uphill really suffered, but it was good exercise. bikewearworld.com is giving away free Gatorade at the top of the hill. It's been so long since I drank Gatorade, that it tastes really overly sweet now. And I used to drink that stuff like water. I'm amazed I was not even heavier back then. Activity
